This has been beat to death both here and on reddit. The proposal is at HQAF working its way through channels. It will be whatever the proposal says+whatever changes HQAF dictates. Just be patient and see what comes down the pike.

Uniforms & Awards / future CAP OCP uniform: blue ...

The following is only one idea (amongst many)... just food for thought and discussion.

It may still be some time yet... before the Civil Air Patrol adopts a version of the OCP uniform.  Nevertheless, some photographs posted online (of the South Carolina State Guard) shows what might be a possible way that C.A.P. could also wear the OCP uniform:

1.)  dark air force blue name tapes... with silver lettering (same as those used on current ABU and BBDU).

2.)  OCP camouflage rank patch in the center of the shirt/jacket.

Looking at the way that South Carolina's defense force wore the uniform gives a clear example of what it would look like.  The photographs can be found on the following web page:

This is what I hate about the current USAF-style Service Coat, no pockets to line stuff up on. With the old-style coat, everything, except the "U.S." collar devices, lined up centered on the pockets.

Quick, easy and pin holes stayed visible even after dry cleaning so putting everything back on was easy too.

That's why I stay in polos as much as possible.

I can't even imagine what it is like for females with nothing to line up on except a buttonhole stitch.

Are there any missions for them? Not sarcasm, genuinely don't know.

No There are no plans to replace them

But, Yes, there is a mission for them.  Alaska uses them to transport people enough they have three of them.  Nevada uses it to transport people to a remote outlying field in support of Green Flag West.  I'm sure there are others but  those are the ones that I know of.

You could have someone help you set it up perfect once, i.e. you wear the uniform and your helper puts the accessories on while you're wearing it. Then, take it off, lay it out, take a picture. Then, pick a landmark (2nd button down, under arm seam, etc) for each side and measure everything on the side from the land mark AND write it down.

A snapshot of cadet and senior membership levels through the years:

As has been the story throughout the last 25 years (50? Always?), my unit now has a record number of cadets, and about the same count of Seniors as they've been at historically since the purges of inactives/patrons over multiple drives.

Sounds amazing, hopefully that means that someone is running a great cadet program.

Quote from: baronet68 on March 18, 2024, 05:10:46 AMYou should check out YouTube.  There are videos of people making their own custom dress/body forms with a process that involves wrapping yourself with plastic wrap and then layers of duck tape.  Sounds like it should be less than $50.
...wondering if these same videos lead to hugging oneself in a padded room...but I'll check them out.
Quote from: CAPJOE on March 18, 2024, 05:16:59 AMThe way that I have always done it is to use a tailors ruler. It is way less expensive than a dress form or mannequin with no guessing. You just get the measurements and center the device. I have used that ever since basic training over 40 years ago.
Sounds too simplistic, could never work for me  ;D
