I'd love to have them sign something but the times that I have run into them I had nothing with me for them to sign  :(  They are great people and very down to earth when you talk with them.  Around town they are just like anyone else.

Chuck Yeager..twice

I never got to meet him, but he's my father-in-law's current wife's first cousin. When I say this, she admits to it; that must have been where the intelligence ceased to exist in that family!

^ Ya, not 30 or 40 like everyone else, guess I am not "cool".

I did leave off General Officers.  Met a few at West Point and during my Cadeting Days.  Actually met more as a Cadet, than I have as an Officer.  Weird.

I also met a guy claiming to be Adam Sandler (looked like him too), but it turned out to be a guy who just wanted people to buy him beer.

What's up monkeys?

I would tend to limit my list to people with whom I've had a full-up interaction with, not just "saw from 100 yards away" or similar. (I've had plenty of those, like seeing Aaahnold 50 yards away in Itaewon, Korea with 2 body guards bigger than him.. Being a little girly man, I elected to stay back..)

General Colin Powell (I crewed his aircraft, we were at a refuel stop and grabbing a smoke 50ft from the aircraft and he came over to shoot the breeze with us enlisted pogues)

General Paul Tibbets
Brigadier General Chuck Yeager

General Louis Menetrey
General Peter Schoomaker
General Richard Cody
General George Casey
General Gordon Sullivan

MG Winfield (CG of Cadet Command)
the previous commander of Accessions Command, whose name escapes me at the moment

(I've met other generals, but these are the ones who were 'name' people..)

Secretary of the Army West
Secretary of the Army Geren
Secretary of the Army Francis
Several Undersecretaries of the Army, including Manpower & Reserve Affairs, etc. (I forget all their names.  "Mr. Secretary" to me..)

Mike Huckabee

Steve Gawley (Modelmaker for ILM.  Shot the breeze with the guy when I recognized him at an event.  Nobody ever recognizes the special effects guys. I'm a geek, I did)

Eileen Collins
Mike Melville
Edward Lu (OK, I didn't interact with him, but I saw him at this Cuban restaurant in Cocoa Beach the night prior to STS-116's launch and recognized him. Geek that I am)

Walkman

My list isn't nearly as cool as all y'alls...

When I lived in So. Mich, the area Christian radio station would host a huge free all-day music fest each summer. One year, my buddy couldn't go at the last minute, so I went alone. They annouced over the PA that they needed some more volunteer help, and since I was solo, I asked what I could do. They put me in front of the stage as "security" to make sure the fans didn't go on stage. Stood right in front of the stacks. One guy did hop the fence and I had to escort him off stage.

The last act of the night was Jars of Clay. I noticed that Steve Mason (guitar) had an Apple Computer logo on his axe. My kind of guy! So after their set, the announced that they also needed some people to help strike the stage, so I went up to help. I helped Steve put away his guitars and we chatted about Macs and computers for a bit. A very cool guy!

Only a few old timers would recognize this guy. Remember "Horshack" from 'Welcome Back Kotter"? He played the lead in a show I worked tech on when I was younger. Dude can't sing a note, but he was a lot of fun. He brought a backgammon board to the green room and pretty much killed anyone who wold play him.

DUDE!  That's a serious list.  I have envy...

Probably my coolest was a demo jump for Gen Colin Powell, and shaking his hand afterward.  (Also my coolest coin.)

Oh, yeah, and the entire Denver Broncos cheerleaders team after we jumped into a Broncos game.  ;D

Judy, we seriously need to talk .... ;0

It's kinda one of those roommate's mother's brother kinda things. But my dad is good friends with and a former roommate of Bob Canadeo, who is the son of Tony Canadeo that played for the Pack "back in the day". I used to go to games with Bob and my dad every year in his dad's seats (Row 2 behind the pack bench in the "alumni section". He took me down on the field to meet Brett before a game. Very cool guy. We talked about hunting for about 5-10min while he was throwing warm up passes. I have a pictures somewhere, I'll have to dig up.

Very cool!  I actually work with Deana Farve's (Brett's wife) cousin.  She was going to go to the NFC championship game with the the family, but chickened out because of the weather (3rd coldest game in NFL history).

(cuz that's what's really important)

Funny, cuz I use to see Secretary of Treasury John Snow weekly.  One time, when leaving Mr. K's restaurant on K St in DC, my principal was walking out with Mr. Snow and Mr. Snow looked at me and said "you ready to go", meaning, are we set to leave (car in place, team ready).  I explained to him that I was with Mr. Wolfensohn and his detail were chillin' out in their motorcade vehicles.  So yeah, he recognized me.

Same with Sec State Powell.  In Madrid at the Afghanistan Donors Conference in '03, Powell looks at me and says "what's your name again, I seem to see you a lot these days".  I explained how we've been hanging out for years.  As CJCS, I stood outside the SecDef's door in blues and later marched in his retirement ceremony at Ft. Myer  <<---Joking with him of course, but he got it and asked if I was stalking him.

And yeah, I'd say Condi Rice got used to my face too.  One day, while in NYC at the Charlie Rose show, she made her way to me and shook my hand saying "good to see you again".  That was when she was still National Security Advisor.

No way these folks knew my name, but sure, some got to know my face.  They're the celebrities, not us.

You're my celebrity.  ;D
