I thought the idea of ICUT is to do it online...

That's just one way that it's offered.. but not the only way. :)

Take the video and quiz stuff online, then within 180 days get with your Comms Officer, or if he/she is not listed as an SET for ICUT, have him/her refer you to someone who is, so  you can do the practical test portion. It is a lot quicker to do a practical eval, takes 45 minutes to an hour, than having to do the entire ICUT course in a classroom setting, which could require anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on how responsive the student is to the instruction. It also requires the instructor to requisition the course material from his/her Wing DC, which can take time as well. Yes it is provided for, but from what I've been told by my Wing DC is that we're only to request the classroom materials if there is no other way for the member(s) to get the training online through e-services.
