"The Army has doctrine, the Navy has tradition, and the Air Force is new."
When it is the Marine Corps birthday, everyone seems to know it. I get emails and I never served in the Corps. I usually remember the Army's birthday and often catch an article illustrating a celebration of sorts. But the Air Force, being the youngest of the branches, yet I didn't know it was the AF's birthday until a post on CAP Talk.
And just think, next month is the 70th anniversary of the start of the CAP Cadet Corp

Pride in the past, faith in the future!
What an adventure it was, what a team to be part of!
Nice video. Real nice that they included a large amount of pre 1947 US Army aviation history in their 65 year (post 1947) history.

Rather the habits than being awakened at 0430 by the first sergeant to use a tooth brush to clean dirt from the floor in the hallway....such great memories of being Air Force on Fort Benjamin Harrison....oh, and how about those health and welfare inspections....
