Here i have gotten a funny story from my sarex this weekened.

i was on a search line when all of a sudden i look down and a snake is at my foot. I stop, freeze, lookat it, kick my foot, blow my whistle and run. My captian comes up and says what happened, i said there was a [consarn] snake at my feet.He says there was not. I SAID LOOK NEXT TO YOU HE SEES IT THEN HE JUMPS,

Many years ago, my wife and I are involved in a search for a missing fisherman who had fallen from his boat.   One of the areas to search was an island in the river that about 1/16 of a mile in width but 7 miles long.  Due to recent rains the island had been flooded but the Tennessee Valley Authority was encouraged to close it's spillways on Wilson Dam so that the waters would receed and CAP could search.

We had about 10 cadets and I was very concerned about snakes hanging from the tree limbs above our heads and had briefed the ground team to watch out for snakes, but what do I find?  A cadet had picked up the first snake he finds and is playing with it.

Go figure.

Did you say not to play with snakes, sir?  Cadets like loopholes.

To keep the snake theme goin, I went out on a mission one night/morning with a new senior member that transferred from PAWG. While trying to determine which direction to go at a cross-roads out in the middle of nowhere, this guy (who's also a C-130 pilot) notices a snake slithering across the road. Upon noticing it, he makes averyone stop what they're doing, meaning 2 cadets 3 senior members and 2 sherrif's deputies, and look at the "cool snake."
