I will be a senior member in about 2 weeks and was a former cadet 4 years ago.  Unless the IS classes for GES have changed I should already have that out of the way.  I was never gym qualified or UDF qualified only UDF trainee.

what would be the best and fastest way to get ground team qualified?

Eclipse

The quickest way to get it done is NESA.

Until then, start with UDF, which shares many tasks, and can get you on actual missions with very little pre-requisite work.

Takes about a smidgen of an evening to do GES anyway.

Fastest way, like everyone else. Sign up for training exercises. Study the guide so it's not foreign. Get the equipment.

..and there's no PCR-CA-020, so fix that or take it off.

Then that would be PCR-CA-437. But according to the posts, he's not in anything just yet. ;)

Can senior members go to NESA as a student?  I though that was a cadet activity?

Yes they can go as a student.  That's how I got my initial certification as an MS/AP/MO in 2010
