Title: New member Checklist
Post by: IceNine on September 05, 2007, 03:13:18 AM
Maybe I'm just missing it,

Does anyone have a New Cadet checklist?

One for the staff to ensure that everything is complete.  Paperwork, uniform fitting, instruction, etc.

Is this an official form you're looking for or just some sort of cheatsheet someone made up to help process new folks into your squadron?

We just used T-Flight as our "checklist".

I thought there was something of the sort in the back of CAPR 39-2 (http://level2.cap.gov/documents/u_120403111801.pdf)?  Checking...

Yep, attachments 2 & 3.

Just a cheat sheet.

Not sure where I saw it but the idea is you have a form that the newbie carries from person to person (log, es, cc,etc) they do their little skit, gather necessary information and then sign-off that it was done.

Something like that, but more in depth... For some reason I thought someone posted one here before that I couldn't find.  I guess maybe I'm doing some typing tonight

The best possible checklist you could ever have is a phone call to your new unit commander or unit deputy commander of cadets. If they don't have any answers, then maybe their place in those positions should be re-thought out.

If you mean something like a list of all the stuff the new cadet will need to obtain to outfit him or herself with the needed uniforms and equipment, along with where they might be obtained, I've been looking for such a thing also.

I'm looking for a checklist for these people so that they can accurately say that things were completed and when.  It's tuff enough keeping track of weekly meetings, without adding the trying to keep track in your head what each cadet has done and when.
