but it's not all right, I have a cadet listed as a SSgt for who we are waiting for his Mitchell to post.  ??? Upon closer review about 80% of my cadets have the wrong grade listed for them. I'll bet it's something on our end, sure do wish they would give Deputy Commanders the same access as Commanders, lot more would get done that way.

If you're listed as a deputy commander for cadets under "duty assignments" in e-services you should have exactly the same access to the "cadet promotions" restricted application as the unit commander.  You might want to check and ensure you're assigned in that position.  There are four separate permissions and you should  have all four assigned to you.

Ha. Got ya beat. We have a Senior Member 1st Lt who is showing as a c/Capt. She's been a senior for awhile now.

^This is obviously a case of a a forged birth certificate and she is really still a cadet.  You should check that out!

What I'm noticing is that the cadets who have their grade listed is and NCO or higher. I'm looking at one cadet in my unit listed as C/SSgt. when she is a C/SMSgt.

Probably because of the WBA.  Check to see that the other achievements are recorded correctly, if at all.

It would seem the information that National gets is what they post.  If they have a Wright Brothers Award and nothing else they post them as a SSgt.  I just checked all the cadets from our Squadron and found that their grade is correct.  I also have inputted all of there achievements and they are all up to date.  So I guess it's back to that old thing about garbage in garbage out.

I think this is why it should have stayed listed as "CADET". Not every commander is going to update that as necessary. I can only guess that unit commanders have better things to do rather than update a cadet grade in eServices.

Then give permissions to the DCC or admin person to input the data.  Not everything has to be done by the commander.

Couldn't have said it better myself.  Any WSA can assign the Cadet Promotions restricted application and any modules associated with it, so if need be, have the WSA assign the permissions to the personnel officer or anyone the commander trusts with cadet records.

We've had similar issues too.  Most of our cadet's rank is accurate, but not all.  There is an option for the commander to give temporary access to what they have access to, but I wish there was a way to give it permanently rather than having to assign someone to a duty position for certain things.

I'm yet to receive permissions like that being Admin.

You should be able to at least do the input as an Unit Admin.  Sounds like the problem is in getting the right permissions, and not so much the program update.

I can only do unit Admin through the WMU. I'm not going to complain about not having certain permissions. For me, it'll just be kicking sand up in clean water.

Any permissions assigned by a WSA remain assigned until the member leaves CAP or the unit, or until the WSA unassigns them.

Ask your squadron commander.  Tell him/her "I want to update the cadets data into this program.  Would you give me permissions to the Administration module of the Cadet Promotions Application?" (That's the one that allows you to backdate the achievements.  Data Entry is for new achievements only, but if you do that paper work also, that's fine, if you can convince your CC.)  If he/she doesn't know how to (I've met CCs that don't), I'm sure one of the wonderful current CC's can give you the pathway.  I know its on the left hand side near the bottom to add permissions, but I don't have the exact name.

You will need to contact your Web Security Administrator (WSA), most times that would be your commander.  You can find out by logging into eServices then going to Restricted Apps and WSA Info in the center then clicking on "My WSA Contact Listing".  This will give you the name, rank, email, scope and unit of assignment for all WSAs in your chain of command, be advised though this lists anyone with access to any module in the application, so if someone only has "View Permissions" or "WSA Reports" they would still be listed.

Wouldn't it make more sense to give the permissions to the personnel officer as opposed to the administration officer?
