Title: Official Cadet Honor Code
Post by: Kayll'b on January 18, 2021, 07:12:33 PM
Hi, It's been a while since I've been on here.

I'm trying to find the official CAP Cadet Honor Code, but the more I look, the more I'm uncirtain about the existence of a CAP honor code. Obviously there is a USAFA cadet honor code, and I've always been taught that our honor code was taken from the mentioned honor code.

What I'm asking is does anybody have an honor code that is in:
A. An official CAP manual
B. A official CAP book (Learn to Lead)

Thanks in advance,

If you Google it, you'll find multiple variations on squadron websites.

It's not official in CAP.

There is not a CAP cadet honor code. Which is why you're having such a hard time finding it. :)

The Cadet Honor Code is not "official" and never has been.
But it's been around long enough to be a long standing tradition.

Why would any cadet need more then...

The Cadet Oath

The Core Values

to define a cadet's responsibilities as a member?

Unofficial codes and "traditions" tend to cause more problems then they solve,
because for starters you then wind up with "unofficial ramifications" for failure to
meet these "unofficial expectations".

If the first core value is "integrity", why would you need an honor code that says "I will not lie, cheat, or steal..."?

Succinct. Approaching elegant. Done.
