Title: CAP use of Aeronca 65CA in WW2
Post by: jcwilson on December 31, 2016, 08:06:33 PM
I am researching the use of Aeronca 65CA N34499 during WW2.  As part of the 75th anniversary I was advised that the aircraft was used by the Iowa Wing during WW2.  Does anyone have any information or photographs of it in CAP service?  Thank You

From internet search, it is currently registered until 2019 and is living in Florida.  The owners name and address are on the internet.  Perhaps he has some history on the old girl?  We had one in Kansas in CAP in 1969-70 and the last I heard was that it made a successful emergency landing in a corn field and I lost track of her after that.  Good luck and let us know what you find.  A beautiful fun aircraft to say the least.
