And the excel spreadsheet referenced doesn't link to anywhere.
I contacted the original sender of the PDF emailed with a question about getting that link updated, to no reply.

Also this:

"For Senior Rating applicants only: Promise to make a good faith effort to provide at least 20 hours' encampment service in 2021. Members who receive this exemption will need to fulfill the encampment requirement prior to their earning the Master Rating. It is unlikely that CAP will be able to track that exemption via eServices, so some degree of an honor system will be in effect for the small number of people affected."

"e. Participation Credit. Advanced students, cadet cadre, and senior staff are exempt from the academic
assignments and quiz requirements that students must fulfill (ยง5.1c above). Members of these groups earn
encampment participation credit through their active participation in 34 contact hours
(roughly 80% of
the minimum 42 contact hours), adhering to the Core Values, and successfully fulfilling their duty assignment, in the judgment of the encampment commander."

>IF< there's an encampment the respective member can participate in next year, why would they have to put in
less time? (If there isn't one, then it's moot anyway).

My bet is that it's to entice people who never wanted to participate in any Encampment before.

Those people don't need Senior or Master ratings.

The last thing most encampments need are adults hanging around who could only be dragged
there for their promotion, especially if in the near term it's going to be 1/2 again the
hours they should have put in.

"You're lucky I showed up at all..." is a PITA in ES or normal activities, but its a for-certain
drag (not to mention possible point of confrontation) for overnight activities with people
underslept and overworked.
