Gary Herman Schulz, age 83, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away June 20, 2022 at Medical Center Of Aurora in Colorado. Gary was born September 9,1938 in Birmingham, Iowa to Herman L. and Velda I. Brewer Schulz. Gary grew up in Ottumwa, Iowa and graduated from Ottumwa High School. He later moved to Denver, Colorado after leaving the Army National Guard as a SSGT.

Gary worked at CDOT for 40 plus years and retired. He was also still active in the Civil Air Patrol for over 60 years and was a Lt. Col. Gary enjoyed Civil Air Patrol and all his friends there. He liked reading books, watching movies and returning to Iowa for the holidays, spending time with Sherri and her family.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents Herman L. and Velda I. Schulz, a sister, Leanna K. Shepard, a brother, Gale L. Schulz, and an infant brother, Jerry W. Schulz, also 2 nephews Marty and Shawn Shepard.

Gary is survived by 2 nieces Sherri Lipp (Kevin Sellars) of Ottumwa, Iowa and Renette Riccardo of Kellog, Iowa and 2 very special friends in Colorado who were always there for Gary, Telecia McCline and Jenny Wehmeyer.
