Is Georgia wing having a winter encampment this year? Florida wing cancelled the winter encampment, so I need to find a substitute.

The closest winter encampment may be in TXWG.

Only see Kansas and Oregon on the calendar.

As of now, Florida Wing cadets have authorization to attend winter encampment in Kansas, Oregon, New Hampshire or Texas. Applications still require approval from the FLWG/CC. If you're interested in applying to any of these, I recommend that you do so as soon as possible.

GAWG has never, to my knowledge, hosted a winter encampment. Always went to Florida.
Still a major after all these years.

That's dandruff, when the white stuff is covering the dog, then it's "snow".

... Great, my Father won't spare any frequent flier miles to get me to Texas. Looks like i'll be missing out on encampment, AGAIN!!!! 3 Times in a Row = Bad.

MSG Mac

Maybe he'll send you to Kansas for their Winter Encampment. Nothing like the Great Plains in December.

Doesn't GAWG do a summer encampment?

That's like when folks here in TN say they have mountains.  If it has trees all the way to to the top, it's a hill.  If there's a tree-line, it's a mountain.

Yes. Usually at the Marine base in Albany. Down in south Georgia. In July or August.

Hi. Long time lurker here, first time posting. Entered as Cadet 1983, three time Sqdn/CC, once GP/CC, spread over six Wings. Currently assigned as DCP, GAWG.

Message for the OP:  Cadet, please feel free to contact me regarding your encampment options. I see two Riveras currently showing in GAWG, and neither is a C/SSGT.  There are other GAWG cadets interested in a winter encampment, so I may be able to hook you up with a carpool situation with them.

General message: GAWG has indeed held encampments for the past two years at USMC Logistics Base Albany, GA, in June. The 2015 Encampment Commander has been assigned and we're looking at other venues and options as well for 2015 since they are space limited (we unexpectedly ran over capacity in 2013, and we still are grateful to FLWG for absorbing some of our first time trainees that winter).

That is because he is assigned to FLWG, not GAWG.  Specifically, FL-242 as demonstrated on his 101 card that he posted.

Roger, thanks LST. I  didn't see any 101 posted.
Disregard, sorry.
