Well Ladies and Gentlemen,
I just graduated encampment today. I was a member of Missouri's first Cadet Training Group and I received the lionheart award. :)

I was told by my flight sergeant that I SHOULD be at cadet staff selection next year if I rank up as a good cadet should :)

That is usually how it works, or thats what I tell my cadets to try for. Or another thoughts for you is to attend an NCSA. Applications for those start in October or November.
I plan on Blue Beret personally.
I would love Blue Beret but it sounds costly, and selective.

Thats what I was thinking. NOW, I am thinking about VFWS which is Virtual Fighter Weapons School, its a Missouri wing event that is a simulator-joystick dogfight using F-16 and impersonating Tom Cruise from Top Gun. Its hosted on MU's campus and participants are selected by essay so I should be good.
Not to drift the topic any furthur....I have been tinkering with a High Adventure encampment.
There is a BSA camp close to here, and they have offered services that are covered by CAP regs.
Ropes course, shooting, rappelling, ect....

BTW NBB is about $200 for 2 weeks. Lodging, Meals, and a heck of a chance to see some really neat aircraft.

Just about all NCSAs are extremely cheap, considering what they offer.
NBB, for instance, is $200 - $250 for two weeks of room and board, plus a chance to see the world's largest airshow from a perspective that very few people get to see.
Other activities range from $150 or so all the way to $975 for the Flight Academies, but that is still very inexpensive, considering what you get for it.

Yes NCSA are cheap however you have to add travel expenses..... The closest NCSA to me is Hawk. I'd had loved to have gone to NESA but going all the way to Indiana.... thats just too far. Perhaps they should have it in several different areas ;)
I got lucky being in Nebraska. In addition to being centrally located, we host 2 NCSA's, both of which I'm a grad of.
The CTG commander kept quoting something she learned on hawk
"Loose gear is lost gear and lost gear is my gear because I love loose gear." or something to that extent

Since I was a basic last year and was going to be staff this year (before schedule conflicts), I'm curious to know how fun this year was. In '08, we rode a Huey helicopter. Did '09 do anything similar?
Also, out of curiousity, what flight were you in? ;)
