Title: Terminology
Post by: sport54 on July 25, 2017, 03:56:44 AM
In my early days - (~1952)
SARCAP referred to Search And Rescue - but as practice/training.
REDCAP was Real Emergency Disaster-CAP - an active mission.

Glad to hear someone else remembers. I was in a little later '61-'62, but remember well my first REDCAP.

Good to keep these memories - this should be moved to History (may I suggest).

Thanks for all your service, teammates.
Got any others to share with the newer generation?

Very respectfully,

How I miss the 'good old days", when you knew immediately if a mission was :actual" without having to decipher the mission number!
