How does one become a C/Chief witout knowing where to find the current copy of 39-1?

How does one become a C/Chief without knowing where to find the current copy of 39-1?

Whether it insults your intelligence or not, you are in a position of authority over other cadets, you are in a leadership position, and a fairly high position at that.  I would think other cadets would come to you with questions like this and would expect you to know the answers or where to find them.  The CAP cadet program is designed to be operated by cadets for cadets with senior supervision and assistance.  As such, cadet leaders are expected to be knowledgeable regarding certain parts of the program.  I believe, if I recall correctly, to earn the Curry achievement, one must demonstrate the proper wear of the CAP uniform.  As such, one would expect one to have some knowledge of CAPM 39-1.  Such is available in printed form, on the CD's the cadets receive from National, and on-line at National's website.  You obviously have access to the internet or you wouldn't be posting here.  Now, don't go getting defensive if others question an inquiry of yours that appeared to be from an inexperienced cadet, use this to learn and apply yourself to the program.  I am sure that you can be an outstanding cadet, however, this program requires time and effort on your part.  Although everyone on this site are willing to help you out and will do so, don't take offense if some will question a "dumb" question from you.  Just use it as a learning experience and move on.  Another thing, your language could be considered to be inflammatory when you use statements like "and anyone who knows me knows that I don't like to be insulted.."  At the level that you are in the program, you should be able to handle criticism without getting bent out of shape.  You did receive the information you requested.  Be thankful and don't be so sensitive when someone points out a shortcoming in your training.  Also, try to remember how this criticism upset you when you begin to criticize those under you.  Buckle down and act like you deserve those stripes you are wearing.   Carry on, Cadet.  That is all.

Dude... I was citing CAPM 39-1 and CAPR 52-16 by the time I was a C/SrA. Those are probably the most essential publications for cadets to at least be familiar with.

Same here.  It kind of PO'd my Sq/CC that I knew more about both 39-1 and 52-16 then he did/does.  Oh, well.
