And i dont have time to order one before encampment.

I have never heard of this before.  Go to the national web page and look at the 39-1 on line.

Quick reply...the answer is No. 39-1 says only cadet officers wear rank on BDU covers. Obviously a 1st Sgt is not an officer.

Quote from: CAPM 39-1 Figure 2-26. NOTES:3. BDU Cap: Either the USAF or Army style BDU cap or camouflage BDU baseball cap may be worn
with the BDU uniform. Senior members, cadet NCOs, and airmen do not wear any type of insignia
on the cap. Cadet officers wear the embroidered grade insignia centered 1/2 inch above the visor on
the BDU cap. Cap will not be worn crushed or rolled. Marine style BDU cap is not authorized

You don't have to order one.  It's available on NHQ's website.

But like others have said, it's not authorized.

Since no one else picked this off the table...

How does one become a C/Chief witout knowing where to find the current copy of 39-1?

Hmmm?

1.) Daily JROTC Dig

I think Senior Members can now wear metal insignia on the BLUE BDU CAP.  Don't own any... don't have plans to at moment..  Just informational...

In last uniform policy change letter...

Just to clarify:

Quote from: MEMORANDUM FOR ALL UNIT COMMANDERS, 29 June 20062. ... Secondly, senior members wearing the blue field uniform may now wear embroidered or metal grade insignia on the blue BDU cap.

Emphasis mine.

What is the blue BDU cap.  Is it a baseball style cap or patrol cap style, just blue.

Patrol cap style, just blue.

I don't have "just blue" in my Crayola box.  :)

Must be the color of the BBDUs that results after a couple of washings.
