Any experience with same? Suggestions, do's/don't's etc?

First suggestion is to coordinate your efforts with your group and wing BEFORE submitting any grant requests to prevent multiple units from contacting the same Walmart store.  There have been cases where several units have inundated the same Walmart store with similar requests and, to the local Walmart management team unfamiliar with CAPs organizational structure, the uncoordinated requests appeared to be multiple copies of the same grant request... and were collectively rejected.

Second suggestion is to build a personal relationship with the local store management team because they are the ones who choose which local organizations receive grants.  Note that (generally speaking) Walmart managers tend to not be interested or attracted to supporting groups in military uniforms so you should consider wearing blazer or polo combinations to any in-face meetings.

Slide 12 of this presentation speaks specifically to Walmart grants... but the entire slide deck is full of useful information.
