Title: Quoting stuff from outside documents/web sites
Post by: RiverAux on January 16, 2010, 04:21:55 PM
It seems that lately when I've copied and pasted stuff from Word documents, pdf files, etc. into quotes here on CAPTalk it is also trying to insert that original formatting into the quote, making the post look nuts.

What do I need to do, if for example, I wanted to quote something from a Word document and have it look "normal".

Pull the text into a text document, and save as such. Then copy and paste. There may be easier methods, but that's how I do it. I usually only have that problem with M$ Office stuff.

Upon thinking about it, another way to do it would be to turn off the WYSIWYG feature in the editor - click the red A button at the end of the row of buttons. This allows you to see any additional unwanted coding, and make necessary corrections.

Yep, that second one seems to do it.  Thanks.
