Can our cadets command a starship?

At Starfleet Academy, many of our cadets are in the Command track, looking forward to the day they can achieve one of the most coveted positions in Starfleet: The command of a Starship.

And wouldn't it be great if our CAP cadets could get a taste of that too.

Allow me to present: The Artemis Bridge Simulator!

Artemis is a computer program that simulates a starship bridge. You'll need multiple workstations (an ipad IIRC can suffice for a workstation) and preferably one projector or large screen TV.

You will have cadets take various positions such as Tactical, Science, Engineering, Comms, and Helmsman. And of course, a Captain.

The captain in this simulator does NOT have a console to work from. Instead, he relies on the input from the crew as to the state of the ship, though he can request that certain data feeds be put up on the main screen.

The remaining officers have to be able to take orders from the captain and relay pertinent information to the captain as it comes in.

Communications, logistics, and leadership are but a few of the qualities that will be tested and trained for in this simulator.

This directly leads into our CAP mission of Youth Development along with tangentally re-enforcing the need for clear lines of communication and task management, which are important for consideration in Emergency Services activities.
