I'm just starting working on this as the new CC. Anyone currently working as a mentor/mentee? Just wondering how this is working so far.

I have submitted a request to my group commander for enrollment. I have some ideas for mentors, but I am not sure how they are selected. Part of me thinks it would be good to know the person already as it lends to easy communication. The other part of me thinks it would be better to get insight and experiences from someone new. I guess we will find out what wing thinks.

It seems the mentor relationship, and this specialty track in general, could be very successful - especially for those with limited leadership experience. A lot depends on the caliber of those being accepted into the track, and the quality/experience of those assigned as mentors. I am looking forward to some new challenges that I hope this will bring.

Have you already gotten started, or are you still in the holding pattern?

Tomorrow will be my second meeting as CC.

Much of the mentor relationship is based on trust, and in an environment like CAP, unless a prior relationship exists,
establishing that trust will be an uphill climb.
