Title: Looking for CAP J-3 Cub pics/info
Post by: millerj on March 15, 2014, 10:56:18 PM
Hello, I'm new to the forum but I have been a cadet of CAP for a little over a year now. I have been given a rc model j-3 cub by a senior member in my squadron that has been mostly built and I want to make it look like one that CAP used to fly. So if anyone had any pictures or info of any J-3 piper cubs you could send me I would appreciate your help.

Welcome.

There are two good photo collections you should look at:
     > Flickr collection - Aircraft of the Civil Air Patrol: http://www.flickr.com/groups/1341889@N21/ (http://www.flickr.com/groups/1341889@N21/)
     > The Airplanes collection on the National Museum of the Civil Air Patrol: http://www.caphistory.org/the_airplanes.html (http://www.caphistory.org/the_airplanes.html)

Good luck with your model J-3. What scale or size is it?

That is a good question.  I usually look here:

http://www.caphistory.org/ (http://www.caphistory.org/)

However, I could not find any Cubs there, believe it or not!

I do suggest this site as a starting point.

I would like to find a CAP "skin" for the Piper Cub in my Microsoft Flight Simulator! ;D

The model J-3 is 1/6 scale kit with a 71" wingspan made by Sig. Thanks, I'll start looking through those sites.
