Anyone still using a CAP laptop with a spinning drive should strongly consider having their finance committee (and wing IT) approve a changeover to SSD. When my squadron made the jump to SSD it was a game changer for cyberpatriot competitions and made the speed of setup for cadet testing significantly faster as well.

Some other deal searching shows that Crucial has a slightly better product across all metrics for $3 more and 12 less GB:

I don't disagree with the sentiment, but the average unit isn't going to be able to handle this,
especially imaging the drive, adjusting the partition, and then hoping it doesn't pooch the OS.

Once pooched, they lose Office, and possibly the OS as most CAP laptops ship with Windows Enterprise,
and the unit won't have the ability to activate the license.

If these are throw-away machines for CyberPatriot OS installs, different story, and would make a night and
day difference in performance.

I sometimes forget my squadron isn't normal.
