I'm an IT guy who always rolls his eyes when vendors promise "5 9's of reliability".  Generally, the salespeople don't quite understand just how little 5 minutes per year is.

As IT folks we're supposed to design our systems to be redundant as to provide 5 9's of reliability. At least, that's what the books say :P.

  Put yourself in the commandant's office at your next encampment and you might find out first hand.

I guess if I were in the Commandant's office, it would mean that I had either done something very good or very bad  ;D.
