Not sure if this is in the right place, but here goes:

If you're interested in programming, Microsoft has made limited versions of Visual Basic, C#, C++, J#, SQL Server, and Web Developer available for ... FREE!

Go to the Visual Studio Express Home to get them.

Even with the limitations, for example C# express won't do web apps, they are useful for basic applications and learning about the languages.

There are also lessons available for either oinline viewing or download for beginning programmers. Also for free.
