Title: A different kind of safety
Post by: RJJFM@aol.com on September 02, 2011, 05:01:40 AM
Just got a kid diagnosed with Mono.  Insists he can come to meetings just not PT. We say stay home for a month and recouperate. He inisists. Mother indifferent. Says his Dr says it's OK just no PT. Kind of kid who'll push himself and I'm afraid he'll get popped or fall or strain and rupture that spleen....considering we want to stay out of CAP jail, what should we do?

Get a note from the doctor. If doc says it's ok then you should be covered.

I agree - since the toothpaste is out of the tube, he should provide a Dr's note either way, whether it is participation or not.

Obviously there's no PT waivers for progression unless he falls into one of the restricted classes.

A month off isn't going to affect most cadets long-term.

Your wing has legal officers. Make a call if only to CYA.

What's a medial Officer?
