Title: Wright Brothers Milestone Certificate
Post by: pilot97 on January 11, 2012, 04:09:16 AM
When I was promoted to Cadet Staff Sergeant, I never received a certificate. Was I supposed to receive one? Or is there someone I can contact for a PDF of my certificate? Or is there a form I was supposed to fill out?

Thanks for the support and feedback! :)

Unlike the Mitchell and higher milestone awards, for which the certificate automatically gets sent to the unit from NHQ, the Wright Brothers Award is a locally-issued certificate.  National Headquarters provides professionally-printed certificate blanks to the units on request, and the local unit imprints your name, award number, and date on the certificate before presentation.  So your squadron should have made you the certificate.  If they don't have any blank certificates, they need to request new ones through the CAP Form 8.

Or the Commander requests them through eServices.

Your Commander or Admin Officer will need to order them in eServices under the CAP Materials function on the right side of the screen.  Select type "Forms and Pamphlets" order  C029 Wright Brothers Award.

FWIW- with the eServices system of tracking ranks- it's royally hard to beat the system without the aide of NHQ, and even then, it's got to be along with substantiated proof before they'll make adjustments.

While there are incidents, don't you think it would be a bit bold to be asking about a certificate they thought would be auto generated/mailed if they were *not* entitled to it.

Zip - zoom - zang and it's entirely possible to get WB in 6 months as Curry could be gained anytime after joining, there is no 8 week wait. The fastest I've had was the second meeting after getting an ID # and the fast average is 3.5 weeks. So hitting the books running from ID# to WB could be as little as just three 56 day periods if they did the Curry on Day One.

That would be a cadet I'd be afraid of - they'd be chewing through the program and spitting it out. At some point that will slow down. It does pile on.

If they have JROTC time, they can promote once a month up to Eaker, depending how much JROTC time.  See CAPR 52-16 Chap 10.

Oh, and yes- I forgot about that aspect. So there's there months from zero to 60 instead of 6.

Thankyou, I simply haven't missed a promotion. But thankyou for telling me it piles on, I hope I can still pull it off.  :)

And, sadly, no JROTC program, that would be nice.

Let's stick with "Time In Grade"......
the thought of a tick- chigger cross just is unbearable. What would you need to do in addition to eating matcheads to get rid of the tic portion of the chigger cross? I shudder to think of the possibilites  :o
