Kirt-

For a flight to Florida and a place to bunk, Ill give you 3 a day acupressure treatments that will have you on your feet and feeling no pain inside a week. I advertise in the local uniform shop and treat fire fighters and LEOs several times a week. Ive even worked on a LE k-9 (retired) for hip dysplasia. He didnt bite me and started walking better in about 12 hours. I dont claim to have eliminated the dysplasia, but now he can enjoy his retirement in comfort.

Kirt, you wimp.

I turned 40 last year, looking down the barrel of 41 in 3 more weeks. Ugh.

I go out and fling my pink body out of planes and then arrest my fall with some nylon & string.  Sometimes that "arresting" is fairly gentle.  Other times, its awfully violent.

2 jumps ago it was EXTREMELY violent and that canopy is going to go where old canopies go to be made into parachute pants or car covers.  I'm glad I didn't injure myself just on opening, but I could have.  That would be bad.

But I've realized that in the last few years, I'm not as resilient as I once was.  Bummer...

I'm only a couple years from 40, and I've noticed the slowdown. Was talking to someone yesterday about the things to do while you're young. We came to the conclusion that you should do all your college and higher impact fun stuff when you're in your twenties. Cause after that, it ain't as easy to bounce back.

^ So......beer and pizza everynight while you are in your twenties!  I should be golden when I turn 40 then.

Welp, not to bump this bad boy up, but as an update, I'll be getting surgery in the next month.  Until then, I can't do squat.  Doc is telling me I should be 100% in about 4 months.  Until then, they upped my meds.  Disregard any random posts that may or may not make sense.

You did not invent the question mark, I did. However, the exclaimation point is up for grabs ;D

So, how did you screw up your back?

I wish I had some high speed story like I did a swan dive out of our squadron's C-172 or kicked a door in at work and got my butt handed to me by a dude on meth.  Truth is, I haven't got a clue.

X-rays revealed a compression fracture in L1, something that probably happened in a car accident or jumping years ago.  Apparently they can remain "dormant" for years then one small move can aggravate them causing sever pain and spasms.  The pain is seriously intense, like I verbally express how I feel a few times a day.  Today, doc almost had me in tears as he poked and prodded.  Thought he was having fun...

Anyhoo, it sucks and I want to be at work, surfing, picking up my son or simply mowing the lawn.  I'm sure I'm on my wife's last nerve.  I know I'm on mine.

Every paratrooper I've ever known has needed back surgery when he reached his mid-to-late 30's.

Hey Kirt, I can feel some of your pain. I fell at work and and now a proud owner of a level 2 tear to my left knee, right side. I have done 2 rounds of x-rays and a MRI. Talked to the Ortho Doc last week and I get a knee brace Thursday. I have to wear this for the next 2 or 3 months.

I have pain pills but try not to take them. They gave me anti-inflammatory pills for the first 2 weeks then the Dr took me off them. Every time I move I feel like my wife just kicked me in the knee.

Next month I will be up in your neck of the woods with my 13 yr old son and his Sea Cadets class on a tour of the Navy Base.

Hope you feel better soon. Thank God for the internet.

I feel all of your pains too. Back in 2000, I flipped a four-wheeler and really messed by back up. Every so often, it goes out for anywhere between 5 minutes to a week. I just recently had it go out on me, then spasm everytime I tried to get up. Nothing else worked, so Cleveland EMS took me to the hospital for a nice shot of demoral, and some viccodin. Hopefully, my wife will get this job that she's up for, and we'll get some benefits. When that happens, it off to the doctor I go to see what exactly is wrong, and what I can do, or have done to fix it.

I just got placed on 4 more days of "staying at home doing nothing" by my doctor followed by an MRI and bone density test, followed by "light limited duty" until we get my back fixed.  He also prescribed me some better drugs.  So if you experience my post count going up or slurred typing with irrational claims of inventing things like the question mark, please ignore me.

This is only a ***WARNING***.

I have drill this weekend where I'm sure I'll be sitting there at a computer since I can't do much of anything... Grrrr....  I AM NOT GETTING OLD!!!!!!
