Title: Volunteer Distributed/Grid Computing
Post by: Capt Rivera on November 24, 2009, 12:27:04 AM
I've been meaning to bring this up for a while but just have not taken the time...

It appears a few CAP members participate in Volunteer or Distributed/Grid Computing. 37 according to one stats chart...

I was wondering how many members were on CAP Talk and if anyone thought it might be a good idea for CAP to partner with the World Community Grid.

If I caught your interest... here are some links:

There are other stat pages, some better, some worse... Just what I found at the moment...

I spend most of my time "crunching" with World Community Grid and some other BOINC projects a little less... What about you? It seems most members do SETI@Home...

If anyone is interested in volunteering the unused computer processing they have, I would recommend World Community Grid as a good starting point for beginners.
