MSgt. Norman L. Morrisette, 59, of Troy, Illinois, born March 5, 1959, in Monterey, California, passed away at St. Louis University Hospital on Saturday, April 14, 2018.

Norman worked as a Transportation Officer with the United States Transcom at Scott Air Force Base with 17 years of dedicated service. The United States Air Force veteran was a retired Master Sergeant with 24 years of service, proudly serving his country as a flight engineer. He was very proud of his years as a pilot and worked many years with the Civil Air Patrol and working with Wings of Hope. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Troy, where he was active with the audio and visual support team. Norman will be remembered for his life of integrity and his pure and sweet spirit.

He was preceded by his father, Norman G. Morrisette; a brother, Craig Morrisette; and mother-in-law, Donna Phillips.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 34 years, Sylvia E. (Phillips) Morrisette, whom he married on February 17, 1984, in Biloxi, Mississippi; mother, Alene (Judd) Morrisette of Louisville, Kentucky; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela (Donald) Hendrix of Peculiar, Missouri, and Aimee (Aaron) Green of West Plains, Missouri; four grandchildren, Sydney Jeffers, Morgann (Michael) Diley, Logann Staggenborg and Mady Green; a great-granddaughter, Edynn Diley; a sister, Gayle Rowland of Austin, Texas; father-in-law, Oliver (June) Phillips of Independence, Missouri; two sisters-in-laws, Cynthia (Christopher) Hulett of Independence, Missouri, and Olivia (Robert) Sharpe of Eldorado, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, other extended family, co-workers and many friends.

Memorials may be made to Wings of Hope, 18370 Wings of Hope Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63005 and may be accepted at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.irwinchapel.com

Services: In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon, IL, and from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 20, 2018, Reverend Jim Wiens will officiate.

Burial with full military honors will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
