CADETS CAN PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROGRAM!

** 16 y/o can perform as sUAS Mission Pilots (with Part 107)

** Cadets can perform as sUAS Technicians (Visual Observers)

Get them involved. This is their future CAP.

As with most things, announcements like this carry more weight when cited with a reference to a manual, regulation, or other verifiable info..  is there any to provide?

Its copy & paste from a recent powerpoint presentation from Lt. Col. Austin Worcester, who is the new full time person at CAP Hdqs in Montgomery, in charge of rolling out and running this new sUAS program. Its 85 meg. I don't have a place to upload it just yet.  But thats the reference.

Also found in the draft of CAP REGULATION 70-1U.

Yes there is a Separate 70-1 specific to the new sUAS program.  Coming soon ...

ETodd, please hold short for a little bit. Yes, I received the briefing about Cadets, but we do not repeat not have a signed regulation yet that states this as approved. It is irresponsible, I feel, to whip up enthusiasm for a program that is not yet finalized. If the program Direction changes, and Cadets are not involved with that specific Air Force program, you will have effectively created the impression of a massive bait-and-switch, crashing the hopes of thousands of cadets. Very uncool!

Please don't state it as fact, without citing An approved, signed program directive. Lets not get off on the wrong foot here by punching out announcements and advice thats not backed up by documentation.

Agreed. Posting suspended until there's formal cadet policy on the street.
