Here is something I was sent regarding the NCR Staff College, which seems to be relatively inexpensive for members.

Quote2018 North Central Region Staff College

12-16 June 2018

Sioux Falls, SD Army Regional Training Institute

To all Civil Air Patrol Senior Members :

You are invited to attend this summer's session of the Region Staff College in North Central Region! This course is designed for Level III and Level IV senior members to help them better execute the duties and responsibilities associated with CAP command and staff positions. Staff College will provide students with in-depth studies of leadership, management and communication skills.

COST: $50

DATES: 12-16 JUNE 2018

LOCATIONS: ARMY REGIONAL TRAINING INSTITUTE SIOUX FALLS, SD

Very soon our online registration will be ready for your convenience. If for any reason you choose not to do the online registration you may email me a copy of CAPF 17 or mail the registration to the address listed below. Be sure to include your shirt size for the polo shirt you will receive.

ROOM AND BOARD: For those of you traveling from a distance and would like billeting, we have several options. The RTI (Regional Training Institute) has Private rooms—comparable to a hotel room for $38 per night. They also have semi-private rooms available for $37 per night. With the semi-private room you will share a bathroom with your neighbor. For those who may want an even more economical room the RTI has bays available. Each bay has 8-10 bunk beds and the cost is $10 per night. The shared-dorm style-bathroom is attached to each bay. I have reserved a bay for both males and females. If you are interested in the private or semi-private rooms please CALL THE RTI AND MAKE YOUR RESERVATION!

WHEN YOU CALL TO MAKE THE RESERVATION ASK FOR SANDY—605-357-2845. LET HER KNOW THIS IS FOR REGION STAFF COLLEGE, CIVIL AIR PATROL BECAUSE WE HAVE A BLOCK OF ROOMS FOR US. SHE IS AVAILABLE TO TAKE RESERVATIONS TUESDAY-FRIDAY 10:45-5:00 PM.

Those who would like to stay in the bays, you will contact me and I will handle collecting the money from you when you arrive at the staff college. You must let me know ahead of time if you are planning to stay and what arrangements you have made. Those staying in the private and semi-private rooms will pay the RTI directly. Those staying in the bays will pay me and I will pay the RTI.

UNIFORMS: Uniforms for the week are any of the CAP distinctive uniforms: white aviator shirt, polo shirt, grey slacks. You may also wear the AF style short sleeve, blue uniform if you meet all the weight and grooming standards. No BDU's, ABU's, or flight suits are to be worn. There will be a banquet at a local restaurant on Friday evening, June 15. You may wear Mess Dress, Service Coat, Blazer Combination or nice civilian attire.

Most participants bring laptops, tablets or other devices but are not necessary.

We will start promptly at 8 AM on Tuesday, June 12 so adjust travel plans to arrive Monday evening if necessary. There will be staff to greet you upon arrival. We will have a banquet Friday evening and my goal is to have you on your way home shortly after noon on Saturday, June 16!

You may contact the POC, found on the NHQ website:
https://www.gocivilairpatrol.com/members/cap-university/course-schedules/region-staff-colleges-rsc/

They may be invoking online time:
QuoteCONTACT HOURS: Region Staff College normally lasts five days
combining lecture hours, discussion hours, and application activity
hours for a total of about 40-45 contact (working) hours. Hours
additional to working hours include time in the evenings for both
study and socialization. Regions may elect to offer online lessons
and pre-course work (up to 10hours) to complete the 40-45 hour
contact-hour requirement to ensure a uniform educational
foundation for students and to maximize student interaction/
performance during the in-residence portion of the College.

It is 5 days.  Start on the 12th, end on the 16th.  NCR has probably the cheapest RSC out there.

Yea.  Starts at 0800 on the 12 and ends at noon on the 16th.  So that is 4.5 days, which could get the 40 contact hours.  For some reason I had that switched in my mind:  starting at noon on the 12th and ending at 0800 on the 16th.

I went (finally) to the NCR RSC last year.  Well worth it and wish I had gong a long time ago.

There's always the PCR RSC which is normally held at Nellis AFB.

Although there seems to be a little conflict:
Web states:  Palace Station Hotel and Casino = ~$830
Flyer states:  Nellis AFB = ~$700

Actually just for the fun of it, here are the cost comparisons; for food I just assume ~$20 daily, which may be a little low depending on the location unless otherwise stated.  In order of cost, not including travel:

SER = ~$200 (fee includes lodging and the stated $10.45 was used for meals)
NCR = ~$200 to $340
RMR = $200 (includes lodging and meals)
GLR = ~$302 to $470
MER = ~$495
SWR = ~$605 (fee uses the stated $10 per day for meals)
PCR = ~$700 to $830
NER = ~$710

Did my RSC in MN Wing in 2015. Glad I went. I got to meet Senior Members that I didn't previosly know as well as work with some that I did. The material was interesting and informative and we had some quality Instructors. All-in-all I had a great time while learning.

For those considering, I just spent a few days at the RTI in Sioux Falls for the IG Senior Course. It's comfortable, favorably comparable to low-cost hotels/motels, and was a pleasant alternative to $100+/night hotels that I imagined I would be looking for.

Nellis was too busy this year.
