When you have either a find or a save in WIMRS, what does that translate to regards recognition? Ribbons, awards, certificates?

Eclipse

Nothing unless the requisite follow-on submissions are completed.

A Find is awarded by the AFRCC, sorties should be awarded by the IC, Saves have to have a narrative and submitted via the channel with multiple approvals.

Sorry, clear as mud. If a find is in WIMRS, is that by AFRCC?

In CAWG, the wing tracks missions and finds, and issues a periodic PA granting the find and authority to wear the ribbon or attachments. it's up to the individual or unit to track numbers of finds.

Yes, when the AFRCC closes out a mission in WIMRS, they also denote finds & saves. Different folks in the office seem to have different criteria about scoring finds & saves, making the awarding of bling a bit inconsistent.

As was said, AFRCC posts the Find to the mission in WMIRS.  The CAPF 2A is used to award the find to the appropriate individuals. YMMV if your wing handles this differently.

Or on a Personnel Authorization, for a group of people.

Here in FLWG, we (the IC) will issue a standard PA for every mission number which is basically the AAR + the names of those involved and awards authorized. The AAR and PA is then put in WIMRS, sent to the members on the mission with their commanders copied.

At that point the commanders can issue the CAPF2A for the award, sign it and put it in E-Services and there you go.

I've written several of these now and it's a great way to stay on top of it.

I use a log/worksheet as a SUMMARY for personnel records.  It's not a substitute for mission documentation, but it helps with the specifics for tracking SAR ribbon, DR ribbon, Find ribbon, etc. sorties and credits.  It also can be used for a summary of training mission numbers.

This is instead of digging through PAs and mission records, and recalculating each time.  It also helps to track things that were previously done on paper, in WMU, or whatever in the past.

Anyone is welcome to use the log:

Mine's in Excel, but very similar, but has a few more details.
