Chappie

Throughout my 20 years I have served as a Mission Chaplain on a lot of missions.  But this was the best one ever.  Our mission team received a life saving ribbon with silver star.

I cannot begin to express the euphoria felt when the family was notified of finding their loved one --- who was standing and waving at the CAP aircraft overhead.

Nothing special, but hopefully respectable for someone who just completed his first year in CAP.  Looking forward to my first AP training sortie(s) in a couple weeks.  Three whole sorties (training/exercises) done as an MS, a half dozen exercises as an MRO or MSA, and three exercises as a DAART User (including an EvalEx).  Still waiting for my first real mission.

Awesome work, thank you!

I am just coming back in, so I don't have much on my 101 card. I had a fair amount of quals on my old pink 101 card (sign off if you ever had one of those).

I spent 10 weeks at Ground Zero after 9/11/ Any other 9/11 responders here?

Come on gents, unicorns are old hat!  On my level, we fly dirigible walruses!

Seriously though, thanks for the laugh.  Wasn't expecting to see a reply like that haha!

Man, after reading all of your, this is kinda pathetic.

Yep. Thats it. Hopefully I'll be a GTM after GSAR school this summer, and I want to be a GTL at 18. Also want to go to NBB after this year, as this summer is my first encampment.

How did you manage to complete ICS 300 and 400 as an under-18?

Oh my gosh, I really need to spell check what I write. I meant 700/800, but I am planning to do 300 soon with my local fire department. Im pretty sure you can do them when under 18, so long as the 3 day course doesn't cut into classtime.

I no longer see an age requirement in the NIMS training document for ICS-300:

Now if I could just find an ICS-300 class that wasn't half a day's travel away and offered at a reasonable date/time for those of us with day jobs.

Good luck with that!

I had to take time off work for 300 and 400. I was fortunate that there was a fire department within 30 miles hosting it.

Not 9/11 but I worked the Murrah Building (OKC) Bombing in 1996.  From 1999 to Nov 2017 I let my membership laps. I am back in now.
