If you could pick a single topic (most important) related to safety for each of the three primary missions, what would it be?

What do you consider the most important?

1) Aerospace
2) Cadet Programs
3) Emergency Services

"IMSAFE".   I've seen some interesting specimens climb out of recently landed aircraft, or from the driver seat of a van in the "I" category.  Ditto for the "A" (applies to "A"ircraft and" V"ehicles) and "F" categories.  CP, ES, Aerospace... all involve transportation.  Co-equal on my list of  "most important" would be maintenance (of "V"ehicles or "A"ircraft).  I just learned of yet another CAP aircraft which had the engine "seize" up ... a big surprise to the pilot.  IMHO, Not much useful  information sharing goes on (horizontally or vertically up/down) within  CAP about recent or past serious and potentially serious maintenance fails, nor about known indications of pending problems that were inappropriately handled... like metal chunks found in a filter or recurrent problems with cracked cylinders.

Nah, I just smile, estimate their weight and add 25%.  I'm pretty close.  Asking about "flight weight" (a term I clearly explain) offers  a great way to learn about a person's vanity, integrity, and veracity.
