Title: Mini medals
Post by: Ethan Larsen on August 13, 2017, 07:25:21 PM
Does anyone know how mini medals are earned. CAPM 39-1 gives directions for medal placement, but it doesn't seem to state how they are earned. I have noticed that some mini medals have the same names as ribbons, eg. Encampment ribbon, Encampment mini medal, or Mitchell ribbon,  Mitchell mini medal. Do such mini medals have the same requirements for earning as their ribbon counterparts? :)

They're worn in place of ribbons on mess dress or the corporate equivalent. Exact same award, just a different shaped object.

They, the mini medals, are not worn by cadets either.

Since cadets are not authorized to wear Mess Dress.

A cadet over 18 could actually wear one if they were wearing the semi formal blazer combo...
