Title: Letters of Recomendation for Encampment Staff
Post by: AACS Cadet21 on January 14, 2014, 05:07:46 AM
So, besides Command Staff and the Group First Sergeant, what cadet staff positions should include LoR in thier applications? Is it appropriate for Flight Commanders and Flight Sergeants to as well?

If the encampment does not require LOR's with the application, it's up to you. If it is your first year applying for staff, an LOR from someone who knows you well could tip the scales in your favor. The encampment leadership will be looking for applicants that they can trust to perform their duties effectively, and if you've never demonstrated your "effectiveness" outside of your squadron an LOR would be a good voucher of your abilities. Just make sure that the person(s) you ask to write the LOR understands the requirements of your desired position and what the selecting authority is looking for in an applicant.

Hope this helps. Good luck with your application.

Since there are so many encampments with differing criteria for staff selection, you should address this question to the sponsoring Wing's Cadet Programs Officer or the Encampment Commander, if they've been appointed.

Actually, wait for the official announcement to come out about staff applications. That will list what you need to submit.
