Title: Paper Safety Tests
Post by: RJJFM@aol.com on January 04, 2012, 02:17:59 AM
Does anyone have any paper safety tests or know how we can substitute for the online version?  We have two cadets, who are having computer access issues due to family issues, and are not completing their safety tests. We are at a Reserve Center, without Internet access.  So, when they miss our monthly briefing, as they did last night, we'd like to be able to keep them current so they can participate in Squadron functions.

You could just brief them directly and enter their currency, or just wait until the next meeting.  For cadets, especially, these things tend to be self-correcting, few do anything between meetings, and wherever they go, the safety in-brief fulfills their mandate anyway.

You have the program backwards. The on-line tests are a substitution for members unable to attend safety briefings, not the other way around.

Excellent point.

An In Person safety brief is always the better option.  If the Cadets are physically present for the brief...no test required.  Just give the information to the Safety Officer or Commander for entry into the system.

You should regularly be doing safety briefings for the squadron anyway.  Each activity should have a specific ORM brief as well.  No internet needed.

Except for the CAP Introduction to Safety which they must complete.

However, for cadets - that can be entered in Cadet Testing on eServices by the TCO, and the paper test is downloadable for that. SM's OTOTH must complete it using the testing system.

So if you're having internet challenged cadets, you can use your own access during a meeting time, or if a public library has their access setup so that the Shockwave Flash plugin voodoo that is required by the testing system works properly with it, perhaps meet at that location prior to arriving at the unit meeting.. because sooner or later they're going to need to get online and the mommy and daddy Overlording isn't going to help matters, if that is what it is.
