In that vain vein FTFY something less offensive...maybe.

For years, the company that produces the ELT distress beacon finder uses that message as promotion.

Another name for donkey is Jackass, shortened to Ass.

The Little L-Per company logo is an helicopter picking up the Ass, with the phrase "We save yours" although they do not say exactly what, the donkey is positioned so you have no mistake what they are talking about.

See http://www.ltronics.com/index.htm

In my view, that slogan is as bad and unprofessional as saying "Support search and rescue... GET LOST!"

Sure I like it in a funny way. But would I take it to a mission? I do not think so!

Since some in here think it is OK to use CD for Cease and Desist, and having other uses and meanings for CD and Support Search and Rescue... Get Lost, would you like another meaning for CD, as in...

CAP, Confused and Disoriented?

After all, that is how many in here appear to see CAP because they criticize the regulations, how the regulations are implemented, the changes in IT, and how they are implemented, the policies and how they are implemented, the uniforms and how they are arrived at, the Safety policies and how they have been implemented, etc... I can go on and on and on...

Things like the "CD" are in some circumstances good internal morale builders, however knowing what and when to keep things "internal" is where the problem comes in.  Don't feel bad I see the same issues in the RM.  Ie morale patches and unit shirts..... we all laugh and giggle during private time, but forget sometimes the humor isn't seen by those on the "outside".

Fun tee shirts and the like can have their place.  Such things can also be detrimental to the CAP image or brand. Will your PAO and CC agree with the message you present?  Will parents of cadets be impressed?  Relatively few people know about CAP; we don't have a surplus of goodwill to offset "funny or die" moments.

+1  Why is this so hard to understand?

CAP members HAVE NO STEAM TO BLOW OFF.  Stressed?  GO HOME.  No one gets stressed in a way that needs "reliving"
in the 2-hours a week most members are active in CAP.

And no, not even during NBB, HMRS, NESA, or the average encampment.  Why?   Because yo want to be there and can leave whenever you like.

Want stress?  Talk to the PSC from Sandy.  That's stress.   And so few CAP members ever do anything on that level or scale that the number is statistically zero.

When missions, proficiency, and general success approach that of the military, you can start talking about being "wacky", until then,
spend the time just working the book, or not and move on.

I was on the ground team on-site after the crash was located by an aircrew. You don't forget things like that. Ever.

There is the old standby.  "Support Search and Rescue....and get lost"

Which is OK until you are on an actual missing person search and their family sees it. Then you have a very pissed off Dad asking if you think your funny and an crying emotional wreck Mom asking why someone would wear something like that.
I'm not even a fan of the retro style "Goofy" emergency services patch.  The WW2 era Disney-like cartoon characters were used on military patches, planes, etc. as a light hearted way to cope with the seriousness of an horrific war, and they were popular with that generation.  I like the history of the Goofy ES patch, but I think it looks unprofessional on our uniforms today.  Imagine the same scenario Groundhog described; a CAP member is interviewing the parents or spouse and has a four inch frowing cartoon dog on his chest.  I  cringed when it was reintroduced, and I still roll my eyes when I see them today.

That's literally the exception that proves the rule.  You've had some stress, I have, LordMonor, probably PHall, a handful of others here,
but as a whole?  No. I'd put a Venti on the line that on the whole, maybe 5% (no way it's more then 10%) of the membership has
ever had days which justified needing to "de-stress".

And even with that, being "stressed"doesn't give you the cool points for wacky shirts, etc.

This kind of stuff is what costs CAP credibility it doesn't have, which is why it's generally in a credibility deficit when it
walks into the room.  That occasionally it can get "back to zero" is beside the point.

I think it would be cool to have a Shirt with the L-Tronics logo on it.

Eclipse.....we can also take ourselves too seriously.....which we don't have the cool point for either.

The day CAP starts taking things seriously, let alone too seriously, I'll let you know.

The only real "stress" I've had in CAP was at encampment.

How'd we cope? After all the cadets were asleep, we'd be sitting in the Shark Tank, laughing like crazy about the most mundane things, or cracking terrible jokes.

If you're going to quote Sgt. Hulka, get it right - "Lighten up, Francis!"  ;)
