Title: ICOM 3061 Portable
Post by: SKYKING607 on March 09, 2007, 04:56:55 PM
Have found an ICOM 3061 portable radio which can be P25 (digital) compliant for less than $ 1K.  Check the link below:

http://www.falcondirect.com/digital/3061prices/ (http://www.falcondirect.com/digital/3061prices/)

Anyone have experience or knowledge on this product?  (New ICOM product that does not appear on the NTIA compliance list (yet)).

Hello Mark,

The IC-F3061 is listed on the compliance pages (look under "Commercial VHF Narrowband Capable") and, while it is compliant under the "old" NTIA standards, Icom has not updated their specifications to reflect the new EIA-603B (or later) testing standard.

You also need to know that the Digital mode option it has is NOT P25, so it is not useful to CAP in that mode.
