Col. Dennis D. Barron
Greenbrier Composite Squadron
West Virginia Wing

Dennis (Denny) D. Barron, son of the late Marvin and Ruth Barron, went to his eternal rest on August 16, 2019.

He was of the Methodist faith. He was inducted into Martinsburg High School Hall of Fame, Class of "69"

He is survived by sister, Marva B. Barron; foster son, Calvin (Pete) Peterson and wife Julie-Anne and son Rory; very special friends, Shelton and Cosby Davis, and a host of cousins and friends.

His career started with the State of WV at DHHR, and then Probation and Parole Office. He held the office of Magistrate and then went to the Federal Government. He spent time with the U.S. Marshall Service and the Justice Dept., and currently was with the FBI. He served with distinction on the Martinsburg Berkeley County Parks and Recreation Board for 25 years; Eastern WV Regional Airport Authority; and numerous other organizations.

His passion in life was the Civil Air Patrol, a 50 plus year member. While in the C.A.P. he achieved the rank of Colonel. He was former Commander of the Martinsburg Composite Squadron, former Commander of the WV Wing, former Vice Commander of Mid-Atlantic Region, and at his time of death Director of Cadet Programs for the WV Wing. He will be sorely missed by the C.A.P. Tailwinds Colonel.
