Dose anybody know what the National Commander's Citation was awarded for?

Nevada Wing just got the National Commander's Unit Citation for the Fosset Search....I think Texas Wing got one for their Hurricane support.

Completion of level V prior to the advent of the Wilson.... if you mean Commendation... if you mean National Commander's Unit Citation, then see Maj Harris' post.

It was a tough award to get. It required the completion of Industrial College of the Armed Forces (GO requirement). It also carried a promotion to LTC.

And, if you look closely, it's the same ribbon as the GRW, only upside down.

National Commanders Citation also required in addition to Industrial College of the Armed Forces (now National Defence University), completion of Air War College. Plus everything that is now required for Wilson. While the Wilson awards are numbered, the National Commanders Citation is unnumbered

REAL LIFE: Working journalist in SPG, DTW (News), SRQ, PIT (Trib), 2D1, WVI, W22; editor, desk chief, designer, photog, columnist, reporter, graphics guy, visual editor, but not all at once. Now a communications manager for an international multisport venue.
