Portable Fueling

Do any wings have a portable fueling system that they can use for refueling CAP aircraft with 100LL?  In the event we have to relocate to a rural site and local fuel is not available.  We are trying to think of a system that can transport 400-1000 gl of fuel so we can operate our own fueling system.

CAWG certainly has no such animal.  We operate 27 corporate aircraft and at missions, we use a lot of fuel.  That said, we set up mission bases at airfields where there are CAP comms, adequate runways and ramps and a decent shot at overnight accommodations.  That normally means that the airfield has fuel.  We may, if we have time, warn the fuel folks that we are going to need a lot of 100LL, so that they can take steps to get more fuel.

I don't know what state you are in, but you are looking at a potential hornets nest to comply with state laws on fuel trucks or fuel tanks.  In this state, it isn't worth the time, money and aggrivation to even try it.

^ ditto, the dangers far outweigh the advantages.  Barring Armageddon there's plenty of gas in our AOR.

You'd need a professional fuel truck to move that much gas.

It would be easier and safer to get a fuel company to provide the fuel and truck. There are a number of them out there and remote fuel operations is a standard matter to them. If you can't find one, contact a helicopter crane service - they almost always run remote fuel operations.

Won't work, I haven't seen a CAP Mission Pilot yet that could hold Pre-Contact, Stable.
Much less come in for a contact!

Discounting pilot skills, where do you put the IFR probe? Most refueling points on receiving a/c are at, or very close to, the centerline. On CAP fleet a/c, that spinny thing in the front would be in the way.  :o

Easy, between the wings above the crew's heads.

Of course, there that little issue with stall speed of the tanker and top speed of the C172...

Maybe makes it hard to see? And it still puts the basket perilously close to the propellor.
