Does anyone have a written communication plan for a SARex they'd be willing to share with me?  I need to write one, but have no clue where to start.

If you are confident in you abilities and experience, whether someone else is impressed is irrelevant. - Eclipse

After you download the 205, Google: SAREX COMMUNICATIONS PLAN. You come up with about 3500 results that should help. Is this the first SAREX in your wing? Where are the plans from previous exercises and real world missions? This isn't something that you should have to reinvent every time you go into the woods....

+1 - Starting at your Unit Comm Officer and working up to the Wing DC you should be able to find someone who has done
one recently - they don't change much activity to activity.

If you have WMIRS rights, you should be able to find the documents in a previous mission's folder.
If you don't have WMIRS rights, find someone who does.

agree the 205 is a good spot to start.  What your trying to do is write down what channels you are going to use and who is going to use them and for what.  Here is a link to fema's doc.

example.
Function     Channel Name     Assignment         Mode          Remarks
Air-Ground        Air 1               Air Operations     A (Analog)  Mission Base to Aircraft
Air-Ground        Air 2               Air Operations     A (Analog)  Ground Team to Aircraft
