Today the the 50th Anniversary of the Silver and Bronze Medal's of Valor. The Medal of Valor was originally established on 1 March 1957. It was then changed to the BMV and the SMV on 22 April 1960.

Are you referring to the Bronze Star and the Silver Star? I have not heard them referred to as Medals of Valor. Must be after my time.

Well, maybe the Silver Star and the Bronze Star w/V for Valor.

I am referring to the CAP Bronze Medal of Valor and the Silver Medal of Valor. The award was simply referred to as the Medal of Valor from March 1957 to April 1960, that is when they split it up and created two distinct Medals of Valor for Civil Air Patrol.

OOps! Sorry! I realized that after it was too late. I was just going to fix it but you beat me to it! I'm still in the military mode after our squadron went to the airshow at Dyess AFB, TX yesterday. Talked to some interesting people at the event! The AF is really doing some neat things now.
