Maj. Joshua T. Stallard
Reserve Squadron
New Mexico Wing

SSgt. Joshua Thomas Stallard of Crestview, Florida passed away June 26, 2022 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. A passionate patriot, Josh served his country as a career service member of the United States Air Force and as a volunteer member of the Civil Air Patrol. He found great purpose in his service to his country. He was grateful for the opportunities he was given to lead and mentor subordinate service members. He took great care to be a man of character, competence and courage so he could be an example for young airmen to draw from as their careers progressed. He served in Afghanistan at Kandahar Airbase in one of the most dangerous parts of the country during a period of significant conflict. In his personal life Joshua had a very strong relationship with the Lord and walked closely with Jesus Christ. To those who knew him, Josh was also a source of great humor even in tough moments. Josh always knew exactly what to say to ease the pain others were experiencing even when he was enduring great pain himself. To know Josh was to love Josh. Baseball and history were his passions. He was a lifelong diehard Atlanta Braves fan and an avid student of history, possessing a wealth of knowledge regarding the Roman Republic and Empire, Medieval Europe and the Crusades-combined, the key pillars of Western Civilization. Joshua lived in Birmingham, AL for the past 3 yrs. with his Uncle Alan, Aunt Chris and cousin Chase Majure while receiving treatment at UAB Medical Center. It was their deepest honor and privilege to love and care for him during this challenging time. He was such a bright light to his family. He will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his father, Alan Ray Stallard and his maternal grandparents, Harry & Dorothy Cameron. Josh is survived by his mother, Lockie Faye Stallard and sister, Laurel Howard. Brother-in- law Brad Howard and nephews Ryan and Hudson Howard and niece Harper Howard. Grandparents Roger and Joan Stallard of Morristown. Aunt Christal Majure, Uncle Alan Majure and cousin Chase Majure. Aunts Elaine Rose and Leta Mynatt. Uncles Olen, Jimmy and Billy Cameron. Many wonderful cousins as well.
