Does any one know the right placement for the AFAC SQ Cadet of the Year medal?

Speaking of AFA Cadet of the Year award, the ribbon provided to us this year by the AFA can't be mounted on a standard CAP ribbon rack.  The backing plate and ribbon frame are all wrong.  We're having to dissasemble the AFA ribbon and remount the cloth on a standard ribbon frame.  So much for "Excellence in All We Do!"

Yup, I had to do the same thing with my VFW award.  But, it is nice to know that all those old crappy ribbons I've kept have now earned their keep.

Why wouldn't you? You should be proud of what you've earned, and besides that, they look [darn] sexy, especialy on Class B's.

huh? It's pretty standard that officers (including the cadet variety) are not supposed to wear ribbons except on service coat or for special occasions. That flows from the military wear a junior officer w/ two ribbons wouldn't have much credibility giving orders to a SNCO w/ a 5 high stack. Junior adult officers with their one line on whites should keep that in mind as well. Regardless of the reason behind it & that not being the case w/ cadet officers, it's pretty standard for c/ officers not to wear them on the shirt. Honestly at that point you shouldn't be advancing anymore or caring at all about some more crap to put on your uniform. You should have matured beyond that - at least to the point of impressing people with your cool shiny badges.

In know way did I mean it as trying to look pretty, cadets really should be proud of what they have earned and should show it. But, they should do it modestly, that is, not just wearing them to look cool. If a cadet is truly mature then they will know how to show their pride in the correct form. Also, why should cadet officers stop advancing, isn't it the ultimate goal to move through the ranks at a good speed and gain the experiences that go with them?
