Airborne Public Address Warning & Information System Versus Alternatives?

Hats off to Oregon Wing for their experimental efforts.
Wondering how many other wings are considering this PA system & did OR Wing get it funded?? (Powersonics PA system).

With the transition to Digital TV in February, basically IF most people loose cable TV they may have no way of getting information (since they won't have digital converter boxes to receiver over the air TV signals).  Also depending upon how well the Emergency Alert System    http://www.fcc.gov/pshs/services/eas/index.html & http://www.easwatch.com/faq.html is marketed to the public by various state, county, & local Emergency Management officials (e.g. buy yourself a battery or power generating crank type portable radio example:  http://www.weatherconnection.com/product.asp?itmky=792166), this could be a serious problem in some locations.   

Under CAP's Disaster Support type missions, here's another example of an excellent mission that can be implemented with minimum staffing resources.

I don't remember any particular negative comments about the concept though I'm not sure it would be the most effective way to get the word out.  Hawaii Wing has been doing it for a while.
