How about the following titles, and at what post count they take affect.
0= Lurker
1= Newbie
25= Member
75= Regular
125= Forum Regular
250= Regular Contributer
450= Seasoned Contributer
900= Lightly Salted & Seasoned Contributer
1300= Salty & Seasoned Contributer
1700= Extra Salty & Seasoned Contributer
2200+= WTMTOH

I know some are the same, but I figured "Why Not"

BTW, WTMTOH stands for Way Too Much Time On Hands  ;)

A n00b is not the same as a newbie.  You can have 2,000 posts and be a n00b.

I got me a special title, because the CAP Talk co-admin and I were cadets together. ;D

shorning

Pffftttt....who needs a title.  Personally, I don't care what you're called.  I want to see you perform! :P

ColonelJack

Well, I think, when I hit 500 posts, my title ought to be ...

"Tsar of all the Russias."

Why not?  Nobody else is using it!

I think whoever has the highest number of total posts should have the title "Top Dog".  Of course I'm number two on the list behind DNALL, and since he is on hiatus, I expect to catch up in a few months  :angel:

Stonewall

I think once someone has 100 posts, the BTDTs have enough on the guy/gal to come up with a nickname.  Make it an invidual thing.  And no one gets to pick their own name, that's how it's done in the real world.

^ Just how would you set up the process for it?  Theres quite a few of us, and only a few of them.  Plus they are very busy people as it is.  This way, there is a simple, one time change, that takes into account of how long CapTalk has been around, and how long we would like it to stay.  I agree that your suggestion is a very appealing idea, but I don't think that it is very realistic.  I'd have to leave that determination to the mods and Admins.

Stonewall

Well, not everyone could or would be done at once.  Just because someone has 100 posts doesn't mean they automatically get a "nickname".  It comes with time, maybe even a year.  But the real regulars, guys like you, floridacyclist, shorning, tedda, slim, mikelikey, and the folks that are on here regularly, they can be the voters.  Or maybe make it a rule, you have to have more than 500 posts to put your $.02 in for nicknames.

I know, it's a tideous task, and probably not realistic.  I just took my nightly drugs and I'm fading fasstssttt.........

Stonewall already has his... it's UK or Ultimate Kirt.

Well informally people refer to me as an A-Hole.  I don't mind, but would rather have AWESOME.  As in "that Mike guy is pretty Awesome for an A-Hole".

Well, it's supposed to be, "I am a student and need to be taught," but it never seems to come out that way.  My Russian is very, very rusty, and the translation programs don't help much.

Sigh.

<chuckle> Translating does that sometimes.  If someone in Russia saw that they would probably say it the way you meant it whereas I read it literally trying to use Bulgarian cyrillic.  Same goes with my spanish sometimes.

                  I agree; a person is judged by their performance, not by their title.  Some low title people may be the hardest worker, while some top person may be slothful....
