Y'all make it difficult... Our Encampment just uses Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, etc...
I'm sorry, did the middle of my sentence interrupt the beginning of yours?

MajorM

Our advanced leadership school used historic state aviators this year for names.  Including famed aviator R.I. Bong.  So yes... There was a Bong Flight.

Hawkeye and Trapper, Hot Lips and Ferret Face >:D, Radar and Klinger, Radar and Hawkeye, or some more.

Seriously, at my basic this year, we used "Squadron #" - it works.

Or "Flagg Flight" but you would have to exit buildings via the windows only.

Wouldn't there be a lot of self-abuse involved? That's against regs...

That would have been great at my encampment, where there were few windows that opened :P

That is about the most tasteless thing I've seen on CAPTalk. >:(

Not even remotely funny.

+1000. Too soon. There was a Clerks the Cartoon episode I watched earlier that referenced the Challenger disaster. I stopped watching it.

Nearly Dark Side

At my encampment we don't name the squadrons before hand. We name the squadron usually about midway based on what the cadets are acting like. To all those that asked why do it and what is the point. The point is because it gives the squadron more pride and it can be tied into Jodie for motivation.

Um, yeah, that's exactly right. Usually by the 2nd or 3rd day personalities come out and the flight will name itself.

Especially considering the nature of our organization that joke is most likely the absolute worst thing ever.

THRAWN

Names of squadrons...reminds me of an early Simpson's episode, as does so much of CAP.

Homer: Give your putter a name.
Bart: Mr. Putter....
Homer: A girl's name...
Bart: Mom...
homer: Your putter's name is Charlene...
Strup-"Belligerent....at times...."
